INTRO:

YHC finally took the DRP and stepped up for my VQ.   I have the utmost respect for the men who have led the workouts I have been a part of for the last 6 months.  It was a big move from the Six to the Q!  Since I’m a PADI Divemaster, I thought I would take the men on a Dive trip to Bonaire, Netherland Antilles.  Today it was 81 degrees and sunny.  Clear skies and smooth waters.   Far cry from 25 degrees in the gloom!

THE THANG:

Bonaire is unique in that you rarely use boats to go diving.  Most all of the dive sites are accessible from the beach.  This means though, that you have to carry heavy equipment (Tanks, Lead weights) from the truck across the beach to the water.

Our first dive is a deep dive, we proceeded to pick up our dive equipment – Tanks, regulators, weight belts (CINDERella’s) and transitioned to the dive site to begin our dive – watching out for “Baby Sharks”

For Safety – we always dive with a buddy!
Buddy System –
   Buddy 1 – Lift treasure to the surface. Fireman Carry 2 CINDERella’s to the top of the hill and back
   Buddy 2 – Explore the dive site – Burpees or chosen challenge for December.
Plank for the Six after completing 3 rounds.

Return to Dive shop (Shovel Flag), Embark on second dive – at a shallow dive site (Playground)

Circuit  1:30 work AMRAP / :15 transfer with Van Halen “Diver Down” album as we worked.   There was a lot to see in this shallow reef location:

After 2 rounds – return to Dive Shop (Shovel Flag) for Mary
