Intro:
This beatdown could’ve had a few different titles: Sumo wall or bodies hit the floor, but it all started with Derkins and Dips. To replace the unhealthy habit of eating chips and dip until I fall asleep on the couch with chip crumbs on my chess this holiday season, we went with a healthy choice this morning serving up plenty rounds of Derkins and Dip.
Warm-o-Rama:
5:30 hit, short mosey to the stage for warm-ups:
YHC started with disclaimer, then the following..
Michael Phelps OYO
Sun Gods OYO
Weed Pickers IC to 10
SSH IC to 21
The Thang:
Nice mosey up the sidewalk hill and pass the Woodstock parks and rec building, back down ramp to bottom tier of the amphitheater.
-Derkins and Dip: 10 derkins on wall height of your choice followed by 40 dips using the wall, rinse and repeat (2 rounds total)
-11's: start with 1 WW2 sit-up at bottom tier, run, step-up, climb your way up four levels to top tier and perform 10 sumo squat thrusters (sumo squat down with hands on ground and kick legs out from underneath your body). Run, step back down or if you are Drumstick you hop down like tigger. The exercise continued until we reached 10 WW2 sit-ups at bottom tier, and 1 sumo at top tier. Half-way through the 11's we built up an appetite so we took a break from 11's to get another serving of Derkins and Dip (10 derkins and 40 dips)
-While waiting on the six, PAX get to enjoy another helping of Derkins and Dips (10 derks and 40 dips), then Daniel Sons (stand on one leg in karate kid stance).
-Back to the top tier of amphitheater for a little core work, PAX choice of ground to use, wet soupy grass or hard but dry concrete (get your mind out of the gutter). LBFC's (crunches while performing flutter kick) on YHC up to 10 crunches. Then Austin ass-kickers (on hands and knees kick left leg back while extending right arm forward alternating arms and legs) IC to 10.
-Then we mosey back to the stage for some bodies hit the floor. Plank with feet inches from the wall, we played the song "bodies hit the floor" YHC was having technical difficulties with song playing at first (YHC was preparing to sing the song). Every time we heard the lyric "bodies hit the floor" we performed donkey kicks (we did 26 total I believe), every time we heard the count 1,2,3 or 4 we perform a merkin (21 total). In between the donkey kicks and merkins we planked and felt the burn for the duration of 3:21 long song that felt like 8 minutes.
-Mosey back to the flag with just enough time for two more core exercises, YHC called 60 mountain climbers OYO (this was tricky in the wet grass), then YHC called on Spaceballs to bring us home with 60 seconds remaining, Spaceballs choice was dying cockroach.
-And time at 6:15, bring it in.
COT:
‘-Drumstick reminded everyone of all the great things happening in his basement during story time on Friday mornings; I have to get out there, it sounds like some powerful stuff.
-YHC prayer choice was one that has gotten me through times of change and uncertainty; The Serenity prayer. PAX also said a prayer for our FNG PSI who is experiencing a tough time in his life right now.
Naked Man Moleskin:
11 PAX was a good number for my VQ. I had a blast and appreciate all the support. Shout out to MSG for traveling down from Jasper. During the LBFC's I heard chatter I was as bad as Bloodhound, I'll take that as a complement. You should've seen Drumstick bouncing down these walls like tigger from Winnie the pooh; how can he spring up so high on those on skinny legs? Don't be surprised if you are swinging by the Woodstock amphitheater some day and see Spaceballs doing derkins on the tallest wall possible, I think he found a new fav. There were some PAX that use to like the song "bodies hit the floor" but I don't believe they do anymore. Shout out to FNG PSI (gets his name from his pressure washing business) for showing up, and having the courage to share what he is going through.
