INTRO:

The 5th day of Westside started off just right. Cold, raining, windy? 9 PAX decided to show up anyway against their better judgement. Gumball watched us from the comfort of my car watching Thor and drinking chocolate milk under a nice warm blanket. 0530 hits and we are off with a short mosey. I’m not cruel so we staged underneath the awning of the school to stay out of direct rain. Time to get warmed up!

WARM-O-RAMA:

Warm up exercises were as follows:

15x SSH (yes, I brought them back)
10x Weed Pickers
10x Windmills

No time to waste since this routine was modified from one that took a whole hour. YHC had the PAX partner up and then provided instructions.

THE THANG:

First to 5

Not sure if this routine has an official name, but it is a partner routine. 1 PAX will perform the exercises while the other PAX runs a loop around the parking lot (modified from 1/2 loop to a full so they could really experience the rain). The counts are consecutive and we had 1 group of 3. The exercises were as follows:

500 LBC’s
400 Squats
300 Flutter Kicks (Rubicon count)
200 Merkins
100 Burpees

Surprisingly, the teams finished with almost 10 minutes remaining. I guess I shouldn’t have modified the Flutter Kicks. Oh well, time for some Jack Webbs.

Jack Webbs

For some reason Jack Webbs have a go-to of mine lately so YHC thought it needed a slight modification. This round of Jack Webbs featured Big Bois and 6-inch holds. I would soon come to regret that decision. Oh well, leap then look, right! Breakdown was as follows:

1 Big Boi / 4 second 6-inch hold
2Big Boi / 8 second 6-inch hold
3 Big Boi / 12 second 6-inch hold
4 Big Boi / 16 second 6-inch hold
5 Big Boi / 20 second 6-inch hold
6 Big Boi / 24 second 6-inch hold
7 Big Boi / 28 second 6-inch hold (I’m pretty sure I messed up and skipped this one)
8 Big Boi / 32 second 6-inch hold
9 Big Boi / 36 second 6-inch hold
10 Big Boi / 4 second 6-inch hold (didn’t happen, we ran out of time)

Legionnaire seemed a little upset that we didn’t finish the last set. I hope he was able to knock it out from home. My core was on fire after those. I’ll have to remember that for future use. Staying under the awning we circled up and closed things out. Good work men!

CIRCLE OF TRUST:

Name-o-rama, 6th Man, praises and prayers. Great work getting Wham-O the hurricane buckets. A lot of good will come out of that.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Day 5 is in the bag and it was a good one! Got a copy of Freed to Lead from Carmen and I will be passing it to a PAX on the Southside. YHC brought coffee and chocolate milk (#goodeatschallenge so none for me). We all enjoyed a cup and then decided to get out of the rain. Looking forward to the epic conclusion at The Chatterbox tomorrow. SYITG!
