INTRO:
Day 1 of WoW: Showed up early to scout potential backup plans if my initial plan was unable to be executed. Cars started showing up and….kept showing up. 25 HIMs beat the fartsack this morning, unbelievable! Slight change of plans and we unlocked the stadium to start off with a mosey.
WARM-O-RAMA:
Circle up on the field and start the morning off with the normal routine:
20x SSH
10x Copperhead Squats
10x Imperial Walkers
10x Windmills
Since we had way to many PAX for coupons, YHC had to improvise with some 100yd sprints, Spartan style! PAX lined up on the edge of the field and on the command ‘exercise’ sprinted to the other endzone to perform 10x Merkins. Walk back and reset. This was performed 3 times.
Once complete, the routine was announced…the C.L.I.M.B. Explained the routine and then split the PAX in half to cover both sets of bleachers.
THE THANG:
The C.L.I.M.B
An oldy but a goody. This routine contains 5 exercises. When all 5 have been completed, the PAX run to the top of the bleachers and back to start it all over again. The count increased with each completed set. The numbers and exercises were as follows:
C – Crab Cakes (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
L – Lunges (Kodiak Count) (2, 4, 6, 8, 10)
I – Imperial Walkers (Kodiak Count) (3, 6, 9, 12, 15)
M – Merkins (4, 8, 12, 16, 20)
B – Burpees (5, 10, 15, 20, 25)
PAX had to take the climb up the bleachers a little slower than normal. First frost of the year made them very slick. Felt as if they got more and more slippery as the routine went on. Must have been all the hot air between Chit and Garf that was melting the ice.
PAX that finished circled back up on the field to hold an air chair for the 6. Once the 6 was in, we moved on to one of the most hated routines: The Jack Webb.
The Jack Webb
This routine is easily one of the most hated on the Exicon. PAX remain in a circle and will perform 2 exercises (Merkins and Air Presses). The counts for the exercises are always in a 1:4 ratio. The exercise was repeated for 10 rounds. The counts were as follows:
1x Merkin, 4x Air Presses
2x Merkin, 8x Air Presses
3x Merkin, 12x Air Presses
4x Merkin, 16x Air Presses
5x Merkin, 20x Air Presses
6x Merkin, 24x Air Presses
7x Merkin, 28x Air Presses
8x Merkin, 32x Air Presses
9x Merkin, 36x Air Presses
10x Merkin, 40x Air Presses
Shoulders and chest muscles screaming we still had time left. Remaining in the circle we finished out the morning with a Circle Burp.
Circle Burp
This routine was used during the Darth Memorial beatdown and I liked the execution so I recycled it to fill in the remaining time for this morning’s beatdown. The PAX are in a circle and on the command ‘exercise’ all start performing high knees. Starting with the PAX to my left they perform 1 Burpee and announce the count. Then the next PAX performs a Burpee and announces the count. All other PAX continued with high knees until the Burpee count reached 50. 2 minutes remaining which is just enough time to mosey back to the flag. Complete!
CIRCLE OF TRUST:
Name-o-rama (screwed that up), 6th man (forgot this until I was reminded), and prayers for Bloomers and his job and the family of Mackenzie from Homeboy’s Lighthouse ministry. Announcements were made for the upcoming events.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
Really appreciate the turnout this morning! Biggest Q I have had the pleasure of hosting. There was a little modification due to the number, I screwed up the down count on the Jack Webb more than once, ended up not recording the Name-o-rama (stupid cold fingers), and I almost left out the 6th man in the COT but all in all it worked out! Day 1 is complete. I now take my talents on the road to The Cheetah tomorrow. I am inspired daily from the dedication and growth that we have achieved since my start. I look forward to many more mornings in the gloom!
