INTRO:
The plan for today was a basic straight forward routine with
some killer classic rock courtesy of Guns N Roses, Jimi Hendrix, and Lenny
Kravitz!
WARM-O-RAMA:
After a nice wide
loop around the parking lot, the PAX circled up for a quick 1/2 disclaimer (no
FNG’s but a couple 2nd timers) and then some cadence:
– SSH
-Weed Pickers (nice and slow)
– Imperial Walkers
– Sun Gods (fwd and rev)
THE THANG:
Mosyed over to
the painted lines on the parking lot where YHC had positioned 2 cones 30 yards
apart. PAX paired up for the whole routine which included 7 segments as
follows:
– 30 yard sprint
– Hand Release Merkin
– 180 degree toe touches
– LBC’s
Throughout the entire routine, while one parter was performing the
exercise, the other partner was resting. We did each exercise for 4 minutes
and increased reps by 1 each time. So it ended up like this:
– Sprints (4 minutes)- partner 1 sprints to opposite cone, then
partner 2 sprints, partner 1 sprints back, partner 2 sprints back
– HRM (4 minutes)- partner 1 does 1 HRM, partner 2 does 1 HRM,
partner 1 does 2 HRMs, partner 2 does 2 HRMs, and so on…
– Sprints (4 minutes)
– 180 Degree Toe Touches (4 minutes) – increase by 1 rep similar
to HRM
– Sprints (4 minutes)
– LBCs (4 minutes) – increase by 1 rep similar to HRM
– Sprints (4 minutes)
Good work by all PAX and all finished strong! We use the
remaining time to burn the quads doing the Walk Like an Egyptian. Since
we had a large group we split into 3 lines. PAX increased spacing between each
person and performed left leg lunge and held it while the rear PAX weaved
through the line to the front. Once at the front, the entire line took a
step forward into a right leg lunge and held it until the rear PAX made it to
the front. Covered approx 35-40 yards before we ran out of time.
Moseyed back to flag for a quick 1MOM where YHC called box cutters
to finish it out.
CIRCLE OF TRUST:
Prayers for all
our brethren on the DL right now.Â
YHC mentioned the one of the 5 virtues of leadership, as defined
by Dredd, named Consistency. Consistency is the ability to handle the
flux (the peaks and valleys of life) in a similar fashion. The ability to
react in a consistent manner builds trust with those around you (professional
relationships, family relationships, etc) as they know that when something bad
happens, they know how you will react when. YHC challenged the PAX to look for
areas where they may not be consistent and focus on how to narrow the emotional
bandwidth to be more consistent.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
It was a clear
morning and after about 10 minutes into the beatdown it was also clearly
obvious that standing upwind of Swisher was a good idea!
T-Claps to Bloomers and Promise Ring for their 2nd post! We are
all stronger having you with us!
YHC seriously considering upgrading to a higher quality blue tooth
speaker after this beatdown.
