INTRO:
Circles create trust, bonds, and brotherhood. When in a circle
everyone is equal, and you can look everyone in the eyes. Each exercise today
involved a circle.
WARM-O-RAMA:
In a circle the PAX warmed up with SSH (IC), Windmills (IC), Sun
Gods (OYO), Weed Pickers (IC), Finkle Swings (IC), and Michael Phelps (OYO).
THE THANG:
With a slow Stoneclad mosey we went to the upper baseball
field and partnered up.
In the outfield an outer set of cones was setup in a circle.
Inside the outer circle were four cone circles set up in
a “bullseye” shape. A PAX threw a Frisbee into one of
the middle circles to determine the workout–merkins, squat jumps, monkey
humpers, and big boy sit-up’s.
P1 went around the outside circle (divided into fourths)–bear
crawls, walking lunges, long jumps, and backward lunges. P2 did the exercise
determined by the Frisbee throw.
The first set was 200 merkins as a pair. The next toss yielded
monkey humpers–audible for two rounds (around 150 total per pair). This was
followed by squat jumps until everyone went around the outer circle once. The
last throw as more monkey humpers–one outer circle lap for each person. Alas,
the big boys will have to be picked up another day.
We then moved on to some circle work. This began with
Guantanamo (legs up and taking turns going around the circle to push them
down). We finished with the ring of fire (jogging in place, when a PAX yells
“FIRE†the group does one merkin, rolls right does another Merkin,
rolls left and another merkin).
We only had time for 1 round of Mary (box-cutters) led by Cousteau.
CIRCLE OF TRUST:
In the circle we lifted up Darth Visor. Faultline reminded us to
not only pray for  Darth and his family, but to also lift up the
guys who were on the workout with him Tuesday. Those brothers
certainly have heavy hearts and undoubtedly are struggling
with Darth’s passing.
In the circle we also lifted up guys in races this upcoming weekend as well as Harp’s son who is a martial arts competition.
This was my long awaited (and often postponed) VQ. I appreciate all
the support and encouragement (Chitwood–big thanks)! Today was a tough day as everyone struggles with
an unimaginable loss. I commend every guy for coming out (wherever
they posted), wearing orange in support of Darth
Visor, and giving their all. I didn’t know Darth, but from the posts
I’ve read I believe he would have wanted F3 brothers to carry on strong. Let’s
continue to keep him, his family and friends in our prayers and thoughts.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
Cousteau is a rock. He said he’s been posting for 10 weeks, but we agreed it seems like he had been F3 for a lot longer. Cousteau I tip my red beret to you for your dedication and hard work.
