INTRO:
Very simple — to see whether the PAX could hit 5 miles during the beatdown, making sure it wasn’t pure running but exercises were included in the mix.
WARM-O-RAMA:
Moderate jog to the track between the football field and the lacrosse fields. This QIC instructed the PAX that there would be no stretching to account for time and to do so beforehand while we awaiting the 5:30 sharp start.
THE THANG:
Basically, at the top of the loop, 12 burpees, and at the bottom of the loop, a rotating reverse LBCs and LBC sequence of 20. Largely OYO, though the PAX effectively hit the beatdown 2 x 2. Given the 1.3 mile track, it was going to take between 3-4 loops to hit the 5 miles. This QIC’s Garmin registered 4.89 by the end, whereas TitleMax’s device indicated 5 by the flag. That said, in the spirit of full disclosure, the PAX ran about 60 second long, as it was pulling a sweep collecting the full group en route back to the flag.
CIRCLE OF TRUST:
Prayers for Woody’s family as his expecting wife approaches the due date, prayers for Tebow, prayers for our families as they enter the holiday season and give thanks for the blessings we all have.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
Cody, who was nursing a sore front leg (or shoulder) from a run within the last week with YHC, kept up pretty well. It was a last-second decision to bring the canine, given his irritating performance last time. The sustained run over 4 miles is what hurts him, whereas with the exercises, the breaks, and off lead for the backside of the park, he is better able to sustain the mileage.
