As I was thinking of different ways to get others out to embrace the suck, I thought why not get a patch for it. I searched my local ruck challenge sites and found the perfect one.
THE ‘RAISE THE DEAD’ RUCK.
The ‘Raise the Dead’ ruck is a combination of a workout combined with a bit of rucking. With this one, I stated to modify as necessary and perform most, if not all exercises with your ruck on.

Its October, the weather is changing and our favorite holiday is fast approaching – Halloween. To get all of us in the mood, we have put together a ruck workout that will be sure to awaken your body and maybe the body of some poor lost souls new to rucking [insert evil laugh].
With the number of HC’s, I was floored and excited to get out into the gloom with my fellow brothers. What started off as a normal ruck, soon turned into a Dropbox paced 1 mile loop back to the Woodstock Amphitheater followed by
5 sets of the following exercises. Start at 50 reps and reduce count by 10 after each set. Total 150 per exercise (i.e. 50…40…30…20…10) – 750 total reps:
Ruck High Pulls
Ruck swings / Air Presses (Alternate)
Bent over Row
As an added bonus, we were given a nice drizzle of rain throughout the Beatdown, which was just enough to cool us down.
Finished up the workout with another 1 mile loop to cool down and regroup. During this time, Bonilla joined us as he was walking aimlessly for miles trying to find us. He graced us with Dad Jokes and coffee, which helped many after the COT.
Special surprise guest appearance from Lexi with some donut fuel rounded out the morning!
I look forward to leading more Rucks with an earned Patch and hope others take advantage of that as well.
