ARENA – Poles
Weather: Light mist and 57 degrees
Pre BD Fun: A few runners and ruckers (Maaco, Tiny, SlowBurn, Geek, and maybe a few others)
Warm-a- rama: Short mosey to the football field parking lot. Quick stretch of weed-pickers & flamingo that may have lasted about 90 seconds, but was still too long for Arena standards.
Da Thang: Part 1“Poles” was a partner sprint workout designed to raise your heart rated to 150+ and then bring it back down with either a short jog or other exercises. Part 2 After 20 minutes of Poles we jogged over to the football field for 6 minutes of Burpee Broad Jumps.
Details Part 1:
Sprint 1st field (pole to pole)
Slow jog w/ partner 2nd field
Sprint 3rd field
Slow jog w/ partner 4th field
1 minute of Mac-tars that should be call tarmacs
1 minute of Never Surrenders
Rinse and Repeat for 20 minutes
Details Part 2:
We set the timer for a 6 minute AMRAP (Yards). This is my favorite measurable workout. Burpees test your conditioning and the broad jumps test your explosiveness. Below are the yards each PAX traveled in 6 minutes:
Geek: 200 Yds
Tiny: 185 Yds
Twilight: 145 Yds
Mall Cop: 125 Yds
Maaco: 120 Yds
BoSox & IcyHot: 115Yds
JB: 95 Yds
HoneyDo: 60 Yds
Waxon: Missing in Action
Mall Cop was our 6th man but he quickly left after name-a-rama. JB and HoneyDo refused to be the 6th man so I told two quick stories on how I got my Coach Twilight and why my phone broke a few weeks back.
