The BackBlast:

YHC scheduled to do Valentine’s Day back in December when Alcoa was looking for some Qs. YHC realized that something special was needed and wanted to have some fun with it.  Before deciding on the beatdown, the playlist had to be completed first. Nothing but Monster Ballads from 80’s hair bands. I don’t think Pitchfork or Almost had any idea who these bands were or even the songs, being born in the 2000s and all. YHC knew we were going to do some partner work, enjoy some love songs, and play with some balls to keep in the spirit of the day.

We started our mosey around the parking lot, did one lap, circled up, and did the following:

Imperial Walkter – 10 IC

Good Morning – 10 IC

Windmills – 10 IC

Michael Phelps – OYO

The Thang:

Next, we moseyed to the school and YHC had the PAX partner up. YHC explained “Balls to Burp”. Partner #1 would start Balls to the Wall while Partner #2 did Burpees until Partner #1 reached failure. Once Partner #1 failed, switch it up. Partner #2 then started Balls to the Wall while Partner #1 did his burpees. This sucked! All the blood rushes to your head while upside down, and then you have to go and start doing burpees. After two songs (REO Speedwagon – Keep on Loving You & Journey – Open Arms), on to the next thing. It was a long Six Minutes.

More Balls! Next, we moseyed to the Bus Parking lot. YHC brought along a bucket of ping-pong poles, each with a number 1 to 6. Each number coincided with the following exercise:

  1. Burpees
  2. Merkins
  3. Monkey Humpers
  4. BBS
  5. Shoulder Taps
  6. Squats

No Lions Den at the Crossroads, so we kept our same Partners from before, Partner #1 would pull a ball and start the exercise (AMRAP) while Partner #2 ran down the “Tunnel of Love” sidewalk and back through the parking. When Partner #2 returned, he did the same exercise AMRAP until Partner #1 returned. When Partner #1 returned, the team would pull another ball and repeat. Lively. YHCs Partner, is very experienced at playing with balls as we never had to do any burpees. Time was running low, so the PAX moseyed back to the Flag for a couple of minutes of Mary, with Misty doing some of his famous crunchy frogs and Geppetto w/ Flutter Kicks! 6:15am!

We discussed the upcoming 5k being put on by Geppetto and is his M on its new day, March 7th. Prayers for Legionnaire’s Sister, Sharapova’s M, and the

Naked Man Moleskin:

Great time this morning and enjoyed the mumblechatter. The Balls to Burps really got the mumblechatter flowing and made for a good time. Almost and Misty definitely took Balls to the Wall literally and left some marks on the School Walls. Hopefully there are no cameras on that side of the building or we might be relocating soon. Duggar and Doubtfire were the unlucky ones with the ping pong balls. They pulled Burpees more times than the rest of the PAX combined. Hopefully the PAX learned some skills that they could take home with them and enjoy Valentines night! Until next time, SYITG! Rest Stop out!
