Intro:

Who knew a few guys getting together to run in the morningWOOD-mont neighborhood could cause such a to-do?

Warm-o-Rama:

No stretching, do that on your own time, but we did run through some basic safety tips while handing out some reflective gear and reviewed the planned route.

The Thang:

Started out heading north on Gaddis and took the first right onto Grandmar. Ran each of the sidestreets and back continuing down Grandmar until we got to Ridgemoor where we crossed over into the F3 hotspot otherwise known as The Grove. Around the circle and back out and crossed over Grandmar headed up the Enclave hill and around the circle. On the way back down turned into Wexford to take the trail down behind the clubhouse and back up to the tennis courts. Surprise, surprise we have more time than expected. Lets do the Gaddis hill! Run down Hailey Farm and back. What's that, we still have plenty of time, ok keep going until we hit Greyfield and then turn around. It was at this point that we realized a few of the PAX had said "no way no how" to the Gaddis hill and awaited the group's return to the tennis courts. The last guy (YHC) arrived right before the watch hit 6:16. Watch showed 5.05 miles at a 9:06 pace, which the lead group got a bit more with a pace just under 9 minutes/mile. Great job men!

COT:

Prayers for those that are injured as they count down the days until they can return to the gloom. Be with everyone as they go about their days.

Naked Man Moleskin:

YHC was pleasantly surprised to see car after car pull up for the inaugural run this morning. Everybody stayed together pretty well throughout, but it still seemed like everyone was able to push themselves all the same. Even had some merlot on the first day!

Just a thought for those that plan on posting in the future, wear some lighter colored clothing to avoid any mishaps. Aside from Floppy it looked like everyone else came planning to do a blackops mission or just creep some homeowners out.

By working today I missed out on all the excitement from our proposed t-shirt design until I got home in the evening. Oh well, back to the drawing board as it apparently "while funny" did "not align enough with the core mission of promoting male community leadership". At least it "generated a good bit of discussion" among the approving committee. How can all men not relate to that design and at least find the humor in it? Ah, humor is a dying art these days. I have a pretty FIRM stance on the matter, but what say you men of Cherokee? Misty out!
