Coming off helping to plan the convergence, YHC was ready for some rand-o-rama – and what could be more random than drawing cards from the Deck of Pain?
QIC: Pie Bar
Number of Pax: 15
Pax Names: Rug Burn, Gekko, Ice T, Pop Up, Brad Pitt, Ratchet, Band Camp, Biff, Odd Job, Pie Bar, Snap On, Rembrandt, Mr. Garrison, High Tops
Number of FNGs: 1
FNG Names: Izzo
Warm-O-Rama: Very Short mosey in parking lot
15 SSH's, 10 Weed Pickers; 10 Imperial Walkers, 10 Copperhead Merkins; 5 Copperhead Squats
The Thang: Mosey to the "track" around the softball fields. Perform 13 star jumps, run tenth of a mile, plank for 6. 13 squat jumps, run tenth of a mile, flutter kick for 6. 13 merkins. Run to bottom of hill near amphitheater.
Perform 11's w/ Mike Tyson's ascending at bottom and monkey humpers descending at top (the ladies running and walking around the track were not impressed).
Now that PAX is sufficiently warmed up - jog to football field. Unveil boombox and F3 Deck of Pain. Each PAX pulls card from top. Perform exercise and prescribed number (number cards were number + 10, face cards were 25 reps, Aces were 100 reps. Between each exercise, run to 40 yard line and back and plank for 6 - then pull another card.
We performed 17 rounds of this. Exercises YHC can remember: flutter kicks (100), heels to heaven, karaoke, backward run (or Nur), wide hand merkins, ranger merkins, Carolina dry docks, LBC's, partner derkins (Q modification), backward lunges, standing lunges, low slow squats, high knees
Finished up with "Flower" by Moby routine: "bring sally up/bring sally down" Made it through about quarter of song, then YHC called it.
Mosey in two columns together back to flag
COT: 6th Man: Rug Burn talked of his walk with Christ and trying to get better each day and of F3 impact
FNG: Izzo. Named because he is huge Michigan Wolverine fan. He was visibly displeased with this name. YHC assured him no one likes their name.
Prayers/Announcements: Prayers for Ice T's sister in law who begins chemo this week; announcement for Grow Ruck and the monthly Blankets Creek night ride YHC is starting: The Wolfpack; closing prayer to Sky Q giving thanks and asking for emotional and physical healing for those who need it.
Naked Man Moleskin: Man, was it hot today! Pretty sure each PAX dropped about 10 lbs worth of water weight and 4th of July "toxins" by the end of the BD. For those counting, we ran a total of 3.2 miles. Random pearls on a string always make for a great BD. YHC is proud of everyone for picking up the 6. Great work men!
