Intro:

The park is locked, now what?

Well we modify as necessary, that’s what.

Today was a recon trip of SwiftCantrell Park for a North Cobb expansion to complement the BDs at the Asylum and points north. It also happened to be YHC’s VQ.

YHC has been eager for something in the “in-between” for a while and with the momentum of other recent launches, today was the day!

Pulled up to the single entrance, and the gate is locked. We’ll have to go in on foot. Whipped around to the corner intersection and waited for the other PAX to arrive. (H/T to Delta Deuce for even agreeing to join me on this escapade.)

Warm-o-Rama:

Since we couldn’t park in the actual park, we met at the corner cleaners and moseyed in to the park.

Quick rally and disclaimer at the flagpoles, then we got to it.

Windmills – 15
Weed Pickers – 15
SSH – 15

Let’s mosey…

The Thang:

YHC looked to prior BBs for inspiration, and found one that thought would work well. ( It couldn’t be too easy, it’s just a recon trip, but another HIM is giving his time. Has to be worthwhile. )

The park is lit well with streetlights closer than they probably need to be, but served our purpose well using the lamps like trolley stops and a 6pt variation on the four corners.

– Burpees 3
– BBS 6
– Squats 9
– Mountain Climbers 12
– Merkins 15
– Smurf Jacks 18

We only bought one way tickets so…

Let’s mosey…

Took a little tour down the path by the playground and the central field then back around the dog park and up to where we started near the splash park.

Back to the trolley…

– Donkey Kick Burpees 6
– Gas Pumps 12
– Jump Squats 18
– Plank Jacks 24
– Merkins 30
– Bonnie Blair’s 36

Just in time for 6MoM with some pickle pounders and American hammers.

COT:

Prayers away for hectic schedules and busy seasons of life. Remember the PAX on IR and DL, reach out to them, it’s important on both sides.

We met Jackie, the keeper of the keys with Parks/Rec and chatted with her briefly about early AM logistics. Neat lady and we are better men for meeting her.

Back to the cars so life outside the 1st F can resume.

Let’s mosey…

Naked Man Moleskin:

YHC remains grateful for F3 and the accountability and camaraderie it brings. Despite often wanting to quit halfway through a BD, ringing that bell is not an option- I’d rather spew half my weight in merlot- and the gains on Getting Right are certainly there and should not be dismissed lightly.

Until next time…
