INTRO:

A few days late submitting this back blast…

I was anticipating a low turnout given that Westside was Q’ing at the Wicked Witch, and there was some guy named Goat Milk VQ’ing up at the Kodiak.  Add to that our Monday numbers at the the Vineyard have been low b/c of some place a mile down the road called the Clinic that also convenes on Mondays.  How dare they.  I only had one commit on slack from Beater.

Thought it was just gonna be the two of us, when lo and behold, Silverado rolled in right at 5:29!  Three is better than two…and the three amigos were off!

WARM-O-RAMA:

Short mosey and then triangled up for SSH, Windmills, and Law Dogs (Michael Phelps in cadence).

THE THANG:

Didn’t do much planning and my goal for this beatdown was just to keep us moving.   We would take a tour of the AO and use each street light to stop and perform an exercise – prioritizing big movements.  YHC warned this would be heavy on burpees since I was still a few days behind in the burpee challenge.

I have no idea how many street lights we hit or how many different exercises we did or how many of each.  Except for burpees because I was counting.  We took a path around the back by the practice fields, up behind the middle school, back down in front of the middle school, back down the road between the middle and high school, then back in front of the high school, then back to the flag.  That makes ZERO sense to any of you who haven’t been here yet.   My apple watch is broken, so I don’t know the distance – I would guess  2 miles total??  Who knows.

Exercises included: burpees, starjumps, squats, derkins, knees to chest jumps, big bois, and flutter kicks.  Reps anywhere from 5 to 30.   Some highlights – stopping at my favorite wall to knock out 20 box jumps.   Throwing in 40 dips at the benches.  And my favorite – back at the flag, YHC called AMRAP burpees for the final 2 minutes – it was  a painful finale!   My burpee total was 150 for the beatdown.

CIRCLE OF TRUST:

Prayers for Beater’s wife to get better, and thanked Jesus for this group of men and asked his help to steward our minds an bodies well so we can be present to serve and love those He has put in our lives.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Great work Beater and Silverado!   It was tough but great to be out there with you guys.  Today was further confirmation we need to make the switch to Tues-Thurs at the Vineyard and stop competing with the Clinic!   Looking forward to Clinic-Vineyard convergence on the 24th and 31st!
