INTRO:

As the feeling of impending doom came over us, knowing that the Cherokee Challenge was the next night/ morning (depending on who you ask), 5 PAX came together in the “gloom of the gloom” at the best AO in the County.  It was cold, raining, and soaking wet but when you are a part of F3 we train to block the current conditions out of our minds and just get the work done.

WARM-O-RAMA:

We began with a mosey around the track and ended in the center of the football field for a warm up.

SSH, Weedpickers, Imperial Walkers and sun gods.

Then a quick mosey to the corner of the field for a four corners explanation.

THE THANG:

This Beat down routine is always really tough which is why I have been doing it every time lately. Once it becomes easy we will move on to something else. The Site Q, Westside, wanted to introduce a new punishment to The Vineyard and YHC got to be the guinea pig for it. At the beginning of the beatdown, the Q has to designate the TimeOut Card.  Today’s TimeOut Card was 50 LBCs.  Each PAX has to call out VINEYARD!!! At some point during the beatdown, when VINEYARD!!! is called, all of the PAX must immediately stop what they are doing and perform the TimeOut Card exercise and then pick back up where they left off.  VINEYARD always seemed to be call out at the most  inopportune time wether it was during a sprint, a bear crawl or burpees.  It really through a wrench in the operation and kept us on our toes.

First Lap – 25 Deconstructed burpees at each corner ( 25 merkins, 25 mountain climbers, 25 squat jumps) , sprint to the next corner and repeat exercise, bear crawl to next corner and repeat exercise, run backwards to next corner and repeat exercise, reverse bear crawl to starting point and wait in the 6.

Second Lap – we did 50 SSH at each corner and did the same routine in between.

HankHill and YHC, during the final reverse bear crawl decided to spice things up a bit, and I would say we definitely have a talent for making things awkward. I caught up to HankHill going across the goal line and what does he do? He assumes the position of course.  HankHill performed an elbow plank while I reverse bear crawled over top of him (he said he felt something drag across his back, I’m not sure what that was about).  I assumed the position next and he reverse bear crawled over me , we continued this routine for about 30 yards.  It was weird, it was awkward, but at the same time, it was awesome. I think it is going to be a new workout trend for F3Cherokee, it will help us grow closer to each other, I promise. It kind of reminded me of that time HankHill and I thought it would be a good idea to do Spoon Squats on the stage of the Clinic, for some reason that one didn’t catch on though.

It was about 6:05 by the time we finished our second lap so we had the pleasure of doing 10 minutes of stadiums.  While doing the stadiums everyone had in the back of their mind that one person had not called VINEYARD!!! Yet.  And of course Westside called it as we were moseying back to the flag!  So on our backs one more time for 50 LBCs, though 4 out of 5 of the PAX chose to take the comfortable route and huddle up in a dry spot they found to do their LBCs.

CIRCLE OF TRUST:

Quite a few announcements and prayer requests.  We have PAX dealing with some serious things in life. From possible cancer diagnosis to lives lost too soon we are all dealing with the yuck of life.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Speaking of the yuck that we have to deal with in life, I want all the PAX to keep in mind why we are celebrating Christmas.  God, in His infinite wisdom and power created all that we know in the universe, including us. But we quickly screwed up this world and added the yuck that God hates called sin.  But God had a plan, He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to be born so that He could die for us and pay the debt that we couldn’t pay. John 3 says, 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

All you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior to receive the best gift that was ever given. If you haven’t done this yet, please take some time during this season to reflect on this. If you decide that you want to place your faith in Jesus please reach out to me or any of your fellow PAX and then find a local church so that you can be a part of a community of believers and grow in your walk with Jesus.
