INTRO:

Lots of chatter in #rucking about PAX with new rucks.  Lots of commits for the Cherokee Challenge.  Only 2 PAX for a 40 degree ruck in the rain this morning at the Wicked Witch.  Y’all are running out of time to get some miles in with weight on your backs before Bloodhound has his way with you.

WARM-O-RAMA:

Ruckers don’t need warm-ups.  That’s what the weight is for.

THE THANG:

A couple minutes from go-time it was obvious it would be just Legionnaire and YHC.  Legionnaire broke out his ruck sack and decided to join me this morning.  As it was just the two of us I thought back to stories of Chitwood and Woody staring longingly into each others eyes.  Not sure if it was that or the cold that gave me the shivers, so Legionnaire and I took turns staring at each others backs and took off down the trail.

The loop this morning was as follows:
White trail down Old New Bull Pen Rd past the field and down the hill.
Left on the Green trail at the end of the White trail.
Right on the Blue trail.
Left on the Yellow trail and back up the mountain toward the parking lot.
Left (3rd Yellow/Yellow intersection, still Yellow trail) across the creek to pick up the Red trail and back down the hill.
Left on the Blue trail for a short stint before another
Left on the Yellow for a second trip back up the hill toward the parking lot.
Keep right on Yellow to exit the trail in the field instead of the parking lot.
A loop around the field toward the cul-de-sac and back to the parking lot along the gravel road for a 2.03mi ruck in 45min on the dot.

CIRCLE OF TRUST:

Prayers for all the PAX exercising in this mess — that we would be injury and illness-free.

Prayers for all the PAX, both strong and struggling, that we would continue to be encouraged and encourage each other to do the hard thing to improve lives, our relationships and our communities.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Despite the cold and constant rain, it was a pleasant ruck in the muck this morning.  No light malfunctions, falls, spider webs in the face or Duke under your feet.  I was hoping to see Ma Bell out there this morning, but he must be an even less occasional rucker than I am?
