VQ HERE I COME!
I perused the extensive list of exercises in order to create a workout I felt would be challenging enough for anyone who came out for a beatdown from Beater. Showed up in the gloom to Westside and Wild Thing and our newly minted Flag. Old Glory never looked so good!
We started the mosey up one of several hills at the Vineyard. Chatter was a plenty from several about our pace as we approached the Warm-O-Rama.
As part of the circle it is much easier to keep the cadence count than being the guy in the middle. That being said, I did my best to cadence count for the fellas.
SSH – Hillbillies – Don Quijotes
The chatter was quickly silenced as we began The Cooper. Our first lap was a 1/4 mile followed by 10 each of squats, merkins, and burpees. We adjusted the lap distance and continued in our decreasing sets of exercises.
As we finished up The Cooper, we set our eyes on the Grapes of Wrath Hill (Name yet to be determined). We moseyed up and began a variation of a Mary-Go-Round.
20 Crunchy Frogs at the bottom. Run to the top and do 20 more. We repeated the process with three more Marys: 20 J-Los, 20 Dying Cockroaches and 20 Heel Touches.
Finally we moseyed back to the main parking lot for some Creature Crawls. The PAX did Bear Crawls, Inch Worms, and “Spidey Crocs” alternating every four parking spots.
I think we were all feeling like roadkill at the end…maybe an armadillo or opossum.
CIRCLE OF TRUST:
We gathered up to share a few prayers and announcements. Spock mentioned a middle school event with Woodstock City Church and hoping the adult leaders could pour into the younger gen.
It is always encouraging to have a group of people around you regardless of good or bad times. I am so very thankful for every PAX who makes it out for a Beatdown. I know I am better because of the support each guy brings in the Gloom. We do not necessarily have to voice our support but just having another man there with you is enough to keep me coming out. I have been at this since the launch of The Clinic and I am grateful every day for men with whom I am growing stronger in so many ways.
