INTRO:
Despite it being a vacation week we still had 7 eager PAX show up in the gloom. 0530 sharp start and we were off with a mosey. Bubba Aziz came rolling in right after we took off and Swamp Donkey swung back to sweep him up. The rest of us moseyed all the way to the middle school carpool lane and circled up for the 6.

WARM-O-RAMA:

Once the 6 arrived we started off with the warm-ups:

20x SSH
10x Weed Pickers
10x Imperial Walkers

Now on to the main event. The PAX were already circled up so now it was time to explain the exercise. I call it, the corkscrew.

THE THANG:

The goal was to perform circuit training using the carpool loop (a perfect 400 meters) but move in the shape of a corkscrew. The first station was right were the PAX circled up for the warm-ups. The entire workout was as follows:

Station 1 (Upper Right Corner)

20x Burpees (Round 1)
30x Star Jumps (Round 2)
40x SSH (Round 3)

Station 2 (Mid-point at the bottom of the stairs)

20x Monkey Humpers (then backwards walk to next point) (Round 1)
30x Calf Raises (box jump up stairs then run to next point) (Round 2)
40x Jumping Lunges (sprint up stairs and then backwards run to next point) (Round 3)

Station 3 (Back up the stairs to the upper left corner)

20x Squats (Round 1)
30x Lunges (Rubicon Count) (Round 2)
40x Supermans (4-count) (Immediately regretted using the 4-count, that sucked) (Round 3)

Station 4 (Mid point at the bottom of the stairs)

Sprint back to Station 1 (Round 1)
30x Carolina Dry Docks (Round 2)
40x Crab Cakes (Round 3)

With plenty of time to spare it was time to hit up the Grapes of Wrath hill. The PAX moseyed over to the bottom of the hill to perform 20x Merkins and then Bear Crawl to the top to perform 40x LBCs (Rubicon Count). Once completed, mosey back down the hill (slowly, this thing is steep) and hold for the 6. After a quick 10-count we lined up to finish out the beatdown with a good old fashioned Indian Run. Once back at the flag we circled up for some Mary and finished the morning with 30x Flutter Kicks (Kodiak Count). And time!

CIRCLE OF TRUST:

Name-o-rama, 6th Man (Beater), prayers, and praises. YHC mentioned the Dupree and Del Fuego beatdowns for those on the Southside. Bubba Aziz also mentioned a run, jog, walk event in the area to support special needs children on 10/6. More information to be provided.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Appreciate the motivation to keep coming up with new ways to do a beatdown. We had solid number even with everyone on vacation. Make it your mission to EH some Sad Clowns as we are approaching the Fall and Winter seasons where people tend to exercise less. There are still so many Sad Clowns in our community! Keep at it and I’ll SYITG.
